SJKC posts heartfelt tribute for student killed in accident with his mother

A CHINESE school in Pantai Remis, Perak put up a heartfelt post in Facebook in memory of its student who died in an accident with his mother on Thursday.

The SJKC Sungai Batu, Pantai Remis student, and his mother were reportedly on their way home on a motorcycle after watching a stage show when they were involved in an accident.

According to reports in China Press, the accident occurred along a village road about 11pm.

The mother identified as He Xue Yi, 33, died on the spot, while her son, Chen Jun Jie,10, was rushed to a nearby clinic, but died.

Reports said both of them were residents of Sungai Batu. The father runs an electrical shop and they have three other children.

According to reports, Pantai Remis state assemblywoman Wong May Ing said details of the accident are not clear and pending investigations.

SJKC Sungai Batu in its post wrote: "Today, with deep sadness, we mourn our 10-year-old classmate - Jun Jie, and his dear mother. In a sudden incident, they left the world together, leaving behind endless thoughts and sorrow.

He was a smiling and kind child, we remember. Now mother and son are together and in another world.

Life is short, but the beautiful memories they have brought us will not be diluted by time. May he rest in his mother's arms.

We will always remember you, our dear classmate. May you and your mom rest in peace together." – September 27, 2025
