THE Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has received just 34 complaints from users regarding the implementation of the BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) fuel subsidy system at petrol stations to date, Parliament was told on Monday.
Deputy Minister Datuk Fuziah Salleh described the number as “very low”, with the complaints primarily linked to temporary system disruptions or outages.
“There were one or two cases involving system glitches, and two incidents where the system temporarily went down,” she said in response to a supplementary question from Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa (BN–Tampin) in the Dewan Rakyat.
“In instances where disruptions occurred and were reported to KPDN, petrol stations involved have issued refunds,” Fuziah added.
Mohd Isam had raised concerns about complaints from users who faced difficulties accessing BUDI95 at fuel pumps and queried what recourse was available to them in such situations.
Addressing this, Fuziah explained that users encountering system issues can still receive their subsidies manually via the station counter, where terminals linked to the government’s Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) platform are available.
“At the counter, there is a SARA terminal system in place that can verify identification cards and is directly connected to the Ministry of Finance’s system,” she said.
She further stressed that petrol station operators have so far shown a strong commitment to resolving such issues on the ground.
“Petrol stations are taking significant responsibility to ensure that consumers are not burdened and that their entitlements are honoured,” she said. - October 10, 2025
