A TEAM of forensic document experts is scheduled to appear in the Coroner’s Court today as part of ongoing proceedings in the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir.
The team, comprising Tay Eue Kam, Dr Dzulkiflee Ismail and Dr Wan Nur Shuhaila Mat Desa, has been tasked with conducting a second round of document examination to assist the court in establishing a clearer understanding of the evidence.
The examination focuses on 11 newly unsealed document items submitted by the 17th witness, a chemist and DNA expert. These items will be compared with previously tendered exhibits as well as documents supplied by the legal team representing Shahlan Jufri.
The court-ordered review, which will span two days until Tuesday, is taking place before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan.
Zara Qairina was found unconscious beneath her school dormitory building in the early hours of 16 July and was pronounced dead the following day at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The inquest is being held to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. - October 13, 2025
