FUGITIVE businessman Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is believed to possess assets and properties abroad that have not yet been frozen by Malaysian authorities.
The foreign holdings are thought to be funding Muhammad Adlan’s lifestyle while on the run overseas, though the exact value and location of these assets remain unverified.
Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya, confirmed that while all of Muhammad Adlan’s Malaysian assets and accounts have been frozen, the same has not been done for his foreign properties.
“All assets, including accounts owned by Muhammad Adlan in Malaysia, have been frozen by MACC in connection with the ongoing investigation,” he told Berita Harian today.
He was responding to recent reports suggesting that Muhammad Adlan had been seen in the company of several Middle Eastern dignitaries.
Sources revealed that the fugitive frequently travels between countries, including Thailand, where he is known to play golf and visit shooting ranges.
Muhammad Adlan is wanted by the MACC in connection with a criminal breach of trust (CBT) case.
Efforts to trace and recover his overseas assets are ongoing as Malaysian authorities continue to collaborate with foreign counterparts to locate the businessman, who has evaded capture since being charged. - October 24, 2025
