EIGHT individuals, including a businessman holding the title Datuk, have been detained by police in Besut in connection with a brawl that went viral on social media via a live-streamed video on Friday.
Chief of Besut District Police, Superintendent Azamuddin Ahmad, confirmed that the suspects, aged between 21 and 40, were taken into custody after attending the Besut District Police Headquarters to provide statements.

Several family members of the suspect emerged from the house, and a scuffle ensued,” he added.
During the altercation, the victim’s mobile phone, which was being used to live-stream the encounter, was seized by a family member. The victim sustained bruising to the back of the head, both elbows, left fingers, and his back from the struggle and a fall.
