PAS Vice-President Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah has affirmed that the party is prepared to contest against Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) in the Sulabayan state assembly seat, should Perikatan Nasional (PN) grant the mandate, ahead of Sabah’s 17th state election on 29 November.

“Pas is ready to face Amanah. This has become a routine matter in every election,” he told reporters after the Ceramah Perdana celebrating Pas’ 70th anniversary at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu on Friday night.

Mohd Amar noted that the allocation of seats and the final list of candidates remain under discussion. Previously, media reports indicated that Amanah was prepared to contest Sulabayan if endorsed by Pakatan Harapan.

The Pas leader also described the upcoming election as an opportunity for Sabahans to usher in change.

“It is the best time for the people of Sabah to make a change, to establish new leadership and a new government,” he said, citing longstanding issues of corruption, misconduct, and abuse of power in the state. - October 25, 2025
