"The incident occurred at 5.40pm yesterday when the suspect failed to cooperate with the inspection and fled.

"During the incident, the suspect drove the car against the flow and hit several vehicles before skidding and hitting a road divider.

"The 26-year-old local man was arrested and the police also seized a long machete that was found in the suspect's car," he said.

"The suspect was remanded for four days and the case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant from carrying out his duties," he said.
