PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that Karambunai State Assemblyman (ADUN) Datuk Dr Aliakbar Gulasan will not join the Sabah government.

According to Muhyiddin, this is clear based on information presented at the party meeting held on Tuesday.

“As far as I know, (based on) the information available, if he is PAS, he will remain as an ADUN only. There will be no participation in the government,” he said in Putrajaya today.

Muhyiddin said this when commenting on Aliakbar’s position in Sabah.

In the recent 17th Sabah State Election (PRN), Aliakbar, who contested on a PAS ticket, successfully won the Karambunai state seat by securing 7,054 votes in an 11-cornered contest, thus defeating the incumbent from Barisan Nasional (BN), Datuk Yakub Khan. – December 10, 2025
