THE Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) confirmed that its Super Lynx helicopter was involved in an emergency water landing off Pantai Klebang, Melaka at 10.50pm yesterday.

In a statement, the RMN said the incident occurred while the helicopter was conducting a demonstration flight in conjunction with the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Army's Special Service Group.

"Four crew members were on board at the time and all were successfully rescued before being taken to Melaka Hospital for medical examinations.

"All crew members were conscious and in stable condition, and are currently under medical monitoring," it said.

The RMN added that immediate action had been taken to arrange salvage operations for the aircraft and that a board of inquiry has been established to determine the cause of the incident.

"The public is urged not to circulate videos of the incident to safeguard sensitivities and to ensure the smooth conduct of the investigation," it said. – January 1, 2026
