BERSATU’s Johor leadership today officially declared a loss of confidence in party President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, accusing him of failing to manage internal disputes effectively and of misusing disciplinary procedures against key party figures.
Representing 14 division chiefs, Tanjung Piai division head Musa Khamis said the party’s disciplinary board had acted against Deputy President Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and several other division leaders and elected representatives who supported him.
He argued that these actions appeared to protect the President’s power rather than safeguard the party’s interests or its broader political objectives.
“This situation has tarnished Bersatu’s image in the eyes of the public and raised serious concerns among grassroots members,” Musa said in a statement. “It also risks undermining strategic relationships with coalition partners in Perikatan Nasional (PN).”
Musa urged the President to prioritise the party’s well-being over personal agendas. He added that immediate measures were needed to restore member confidence and to pave the way for rebuilding a strong, united party.
Previously, Hamzah was reported to be facing a summons from the party’s disciplinary board over allegations linked to disturbances during the Annual General Assembly (PAT) and attacks against Muhyiddin.
According to a letter purported to be a second notice, dated 6 February and signed by BERSATU Disciplinary Board Chairman Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan, four written complaints had been lodged against Hamzah, dated 30 September 2025 and 5 February.
The notice warned that failure to attend the session would allow the board to make a final decision without further consultation. - February 10, 2026
