A BOY died, while his two siblings are in critical condition, after it is believed that they were given Methadone by their own mother, this morning.

Methadone is a synthetic opioid drug used in substitution therapy to treat opiate drug addiction, especially heroin and morphine.

According to reports in Berita Harian, it is understood that the incident occurred at a residence in Sungai Ramal Baru, Kajang, with the three siblings being rushed to the hospital unconscious.

The deceased victim was 11 years old, while his two siblings, aged nine and five, are reported to be in critical condition.

According to sources, the police received a report on the incident at 9.01 am from the Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Hospital (HTPN) medical officer.

"The hospital informed that it received three patients, namely boys, at 7.50 am.

"Unfortunately, the eldest child, aged 11, was confirmed dead, while the youngest, aged five, is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the other in the Red Zone of the Emergency Unit," he said when contacted by BH today.

The source said that initial investigations found that the cause of the incident was believed to be due to the actions of the victim's 35-year-old mother, who gave Methadone to her three children.

The same source said that so far, the police are still conducting further investigations into the motives of the woman involved in such an act and how the supply of controlled drugs was obtained.

"Further investigations are underway while awaiting the autopsy report," he said.

The body is currently at the HTPN Forensic Department for further action. – February 11, 2026
