TRAFFIC on Malaysia’s major highways began slowing down this morning as the number of vehicles on the roads increased, prompting warnings from the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) to motorists.
In a Facebook update, the LLM’s Traffic Management Centre reported that while traffic around the Klang Valley toll expressways had increased, conditions remained under control as of 9.23am.
“The situation on the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Highway (KLK) is beginning to see congestion at the Genting Sempah Toll Plaza heading east,” the statement said.
On the North-South Expressway (PLUS) northbound, traffic was moving slowly between Rawang and Bukit Beruntung, Slim River to Sungkai, Bidor to Tapah, Skudai to Kulai, and Machap to Ayer Hitam.
The LLM also noted early reports of an accident at kilometre 76.0 after the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza towards the city centre, which could further affect traffic flow.
The southbound PLUS Highway saw heavier vehicle volumes on the stretches from Putra Mahkota to Bandar Ainsdale and from Johor Bahru to Woodlands, causing congestion in both directions.
Meanwhile, the Malaysia–Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA) was congested from Tuas heading towards the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (CIQ) in Johor Bahru.
The North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) northbound experienced slow traffic from Putrajaya to Bandar Saujana Putra, and the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP) was congested from Puchong Utama to Puchong Intan.
Motorists were urged to exercise caution and anticipate delays while travelling on these routes during peak periods. The LLM continues to monitor traffic conditions and provide updates to ensure commuter safety and smoother flow. - February 14, 2026
