Lecturer found dead in house

A PUBLIC university lecturer was found dead in a house in Kampung Gelam Mas, Keluang, Besut at 9.38 am today.

Besut District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahim, said the victim, 49, was found after the police received information from the public about a foul smell coming from the residences.

"Initial examinations found no injuries or criminal elements. The victim is known to have a history of heart disease.

"The victim's body was taken to the Besut Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem and confirmed death due to Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis, a heart disease," he said in a statement today.

He said the victim is believed to have died more than 24 hours ago, and the case is classified as sudden death (SDR). – March 10, 2026
