PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his gratitude to nurses across Malaysia in conjunction with World Nurses Day, praising their critical role in delivering care and comfort throughout every stage of human life.

In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Anwar described nurses as among the first individuals to welcome newborns into the world and as dedicated professionals who continue to serve patients through illness, recovery and end-of-life care.

He said their contribution is deeply woven into the experiences of nearly every individual, whether through comforting patients in pain, reassuring frightened children, or supporting anxious families during medical emergencies.

Anwar emphasised that nurses play an essential role within the healthcare system, noting that their experience, attention to detail and clinical support are crucial in enabling doctors to provide effective treatment to patients.

He also described nursing as a noble profession that demands extraordinary sacrifice, emotional strength and sincerity of heart.

“The great service of nurses is often difficult to express in words, but their sacrifice holds immense value for the people and the country,” he said.

The Prime Minister conveyed his appreciation to all nurses in Malaysia, extending his best wishes in recognition of their contributions to public health and national well-being. - May 12, 2026
