KUANTAN – Pengurusan Air Pahang Bhd has refuted a report, which has been making its rounds on social media, claiming that the Kobat water intake point is almost full and water will be released into Sg Bukit Rangin, causing floods.
Its chief executive officer, Saiful Zaini Mohd Bokhari, said the claim issued by “irresponsible” parties was not true.
“Air Pahang is of the view that this news was disseminated to create anxiety among the people.
“Following that, we would like to advise the public not to believe statements made by unverified sources, and to refer to official statements issued by us,” he said in a statement.
Recently, a report made its rounds on social media asking residents in the Sg Isap Permatang Badak area to make necessary preparations as allegedly the Kobat water intake point is almost full and at any time the gate will be automatically opened to release water into Sg Bukit Rangin causing floods. – Bernama, January 4, 2021
