MUHAMMAD Adam Danish Mohd Anuar, 23, a Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) industrial trainee, died from drowning after an incident at the Saujana Perdana Water Tower reservoir in Bandar Saujana Perdana on 16 June, police confirmed today following the completion of a post-mortem examination.

Sungai Buloh District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said preliminary investigations, together with the findings of the post-mortem conducted by police forensic authorities, had established drowning as the cause of death.

The case has consequently been classified as a sudden death report (SDR).

"The victim's body was previously sent to the Forensic Unit of Hospital Al Sultan Abdullah (HASA) in Puncak Alam for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death before the official findings were obtained.

"Accordingly, members of the public are reminded not to spread rumours that could create unnecessary public concern or interfere with police investigations," he said in a statement today.

Mohd Hafiz said police received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11.53am on 16 June, with the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assisting in retrieving the victim from the reservoir.

"The victim's death was subsequently confirmed by a medical assistant from HASA," he said. - June 20, 2026
