Johor PRN: Former minister, Exco, MP among 56 PH candidates

FORMER Education Minister, Dr Maszlee Malik, is among the big names announced as Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates for the Puteri Wangsa State Legislative Assembly seat in the 16th Johor State Election (PRN).

The announcement of the list of 56 PH candidates was made by PH Chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, at a ceremony in Bukit Gambir, Tangkak, last night.

In addition, Pulai MP, Suhaizan Kaiat, was also nominated for the Larkin state seat, while Johor Amanah Vice Chairman, Dr Zuhan Zain, was featured in the Mahkota state seat, which was previously considered an UMNO stronghold.

In addition, two former Johor State Exco members from the Pakatan Harapan (PH) era, namely Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar (Semerah) and Dzulkefly Ahmad (Kota Iskandar), are returning to represent their respective seats that were contested previously.

New faces are Johor AMK Chief Faezuddin Puad (Kempas) and Johor PKR Information Chief Mohd Fakharuddin Moslim (Pasir Raja).

Among others, Batu Pahat Member of Parliament Onn Abu Bakar is trying his luck in the Senggarang state seat, while Noraziah Mohd Razit (Buloh Kasap), Ng Kor Sim (Jementah), Jalex Lee En Xiang (Pemanis), and Mohd Afif Abd Hamid (Kemelah). – June 23, 2026
