NOMINATIONS for the 16th Johor State Election (PRN) were completed at 10 am after all 56 nomination centres across the state closed.

An hour was allocated for the submission of nomination forms, which began at 9 am, before the Returning Officer (RO) announced the closure of the process at the respective nomination centres.

The focus is now on the official declaration of the list of candidates eligible to contest and the number of candidates in each State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat.

With the process completed, the 14-day campaign period for the Johor PRN officially began as set by the Election Commission (EC) until 11.59 pm on 10 July, before polling day.

The EC has set July 7 as the date for early voting, while July 11 as polling day.

A total of 2,727,926 voters are eligible to exercise their responsibilities in this election, involving 2,703,175 ordinary voters, 12,041 military personnel and their spouses and 12,710 police personnel and their spouses. – June 27, 2026
