A VIRAL video showing a crocodile about three metres long eating something believed to be a dog at Tanjung Gemuk Beach, Port Dickson, has sparked concern among anglers and residents.

An angler, Mohd. Shahrizan Abd. Wahab, 39, said he received information along with a video recording of the crocodile's appearance at 7.02 am this morning. It is understood that it was recorded at 11.45 pm last night.

According to him, in his 13 years as an angler, it was the first time he had seen a crocodile in the area eating something believed to be a dog.

"I was really shocked. Before this, I had only seen crocodiles in the middle of the sea. When I saw the video, I immediately thought about safety and would stay away if I came across the reptile.

"I got the video from my siblings because they were worried about our safety as they also like to fish in the sea," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Negeri Sembilan Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan), Faizal Izham Pikri, confirmed they received a video recording regarding the appearance of the crocodile this morning, and further investigation is underway.
