COMMUNICATIONS Minister Datuk Fahm Fadzil leads the list of recipients of the Penang honours list in conjunction with the 85th Birthday of Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ramli Ngah Talib.

Fahmi, 45, who is also the Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai, will receive the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN) award, which also carries the “Datuk Seri” title.

The awards ceremony will take place over four days starting tomorrow, July 11, 13, 14 and 15, with 101 individuals receiving the awards.

The recipients consist of members of the state and federal civil service, politicians, corporate figures, members of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), local entrepreneurs and members of volunteer bodies.

A total of 19 individuals will receive the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN), which also carries the title of “Datuk Seri', including MARA Incorporated Sdn Bhd Chairman Datuk Wira Abdul Halim Mohammad; Invest Penang Chief Executive Officer Datuk Loo Lee Lian, Pelita Samudra Pertama (M) Sdn Bhd Managing Director Tan Sri Murugan Doraisamy and Chief Justice of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah.

Nine individuals will receive the Darjah Mulia Pangkuan Negeri (DMPN) as well as 103 recipients of the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN), which carries the title of Datuk, including former Penang Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail and UEM Group Berhad Managing Director Datuk Amran HafizAffifudin.

A total of 72 individuals will be awarded the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) which also carries the title of Datuk, including famous Malay film actor who is also the Director and Scriptwriter of Cathay-Keris Film Productions, the late Nordin Ahmad. – July 10, 2026
