A GROUP of visitors at a theme park in Genting Highlands were seen walking along a roller coaster track after the ride reportedly stopped while in operation.

A video posted on social media shows several people making their way along the track before leaving the ride area.

The footage was shared on Threads by user Nrlkbs_, who questioned why visitors had to get off the roller coaster.

“The Sunway Lagoon issue hasn’t even been settled yet, and now at Genting people have to get off a roller coaster and walk out? What’s going on? Hope no one was injured. It’s starting to look like jungle trekking, huh?” the user wrote.

The post prompted speculation among other users, with some saying visitors may have been taken out through a designated evacuation route after the ride encountered a technical problem.

One user, Unie, said it was normal for passengers to leave on foot if a roller coaster became stuck and could not return to the station.

“Maybe the roller coaster got stuck because of a technical problem and could not return to its original position. There is a route to get the visitors out,” she said.

Another user, who claimed to have previously worked at a theme park, said safety was normally prioritised and that no visitors were injured in similar situations during their time there.

The exact time and circumstances of the incident have not been established.

There has also been no official confirmation on whether the ride malfunctioned or if anyone was injured. – August 25, 2026
