PENAMPANG – Warisan deputy president Datuk Darell Leiking says that he has not heard anything about party leaders wanting to leave Warisan.

Leiking, a candidate for the Moyog state seat, said this when asked about talk that several leaders are planning to quit after he had cast his vote at the SK Sugud polling station here for the Sabah state election today.

"We don’t know about this matter. People usually come and go. We wish them luck if it's true, but we hope that's not true,” he said.

"What is important is just like what Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal did, we return the mandate to the people,” he added. "We hope that the people decide more decisively.”

On July 30, the Warisan-led Sabah government led by Shafie was forced to dissolve the state assembly after rival former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman claimed to have the support of 32 reps, saying Shafie’s administration had lost the majority.

This paved the way for the fresh election in the state.

"We hope for the best and that we would not face any problem. I'm also happy that everyone is following standard operating procedures," Leiking said.

Leiking is the MP for Penampang and former international trade and industry minister.
