Wife held after man dies in acid attack

SEREMBAN – The wife of a man who died after he was believed to have been splashed with acid in an incident last Saturday has been remanded.

Seremban district police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim said in a statement today she, as well as six men, were remanded over investigations into the 3.31am incident at Taman Pulai Impian, Sikamat.

“All seven suspects, aged between 15 and 41 years old, have been remanded until Tuesday,” he said.

Said said a police report on the incident was lodged on January 23 and initial investigations found that the 43-year-old victim suffered 30% burns after being splashed with a corrosive liquid, believed to be acid.

The victim, who was receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Seremban Hospital, succumbed to his injuries at 11pm yesterday.

The case being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama, January 29, 2021
