KUALA LUMPUR – Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) president and chief executive Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan is expected to lead the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) starting March 1, people familiar with the matter told The Vibes.

The Edge today reported that Amir Hamzah will replace EPF chief executive Tunku Alizakri Alias, marking the second change in three years at the country’s largest government-linked investment company.

EPF, in a statement, confirmed Amir Hamzah’s appointment as CEO.

Tunku Alizakri took over from Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan in August 2018. Prior to being CEO, Tunku Alizakri was Shahril Ridza’s deputy.

Shahril Ridza, who is currently managing director of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, is also believed to be leaving the group.

Amir Hamzah, 53, joined TNB in April 2019, succeeding Datuk Seri Azman Mohd, who helmed the utility giant for more than six years. – The Vibes, February 10, 2021
