KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Pakatan Harapan must review its cooperation with political allies, especially those “outside the alliance”, said state PKR Youth head Raymond Ahuar.

Without specifying which party should be cut, Ahuar told The Vibes that the call to review and consolidate Sabah PH was made after attempts by certain individuals to sabotage the coalition’s manifesto and consensus.

Sabah PH is currently in a pact with Warisan, and that alliance, also known was Warisan Plus, has been in limbo after September’s state election.

Ahuar, also Sabah PH Youth head, said he believed PH should not focus its attention on “outsiders”, but on strengthening leadership within the pact.

“I wish to stress the need for PH to review its cooperation with others outside the alliance.

“I hope Sabah PH decides quickly. Whichever party it wishes to work with must have the same goal – to have PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the single choice for prime minister.”

The Vibes understands that Ahuar is not the only voice calling for a review, as several other PKR leaders had come forward to express their displeasure over Warisan’s dominance during its governance of the state after the 14th general election in 2018.

Another sticking point between PH and Warisan is the choice of a prime minister-elect, with PKR standing by Anwar and Warisan wanting to push its founder and former Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Meanwhile, Ahuar said the state PH should begin seat negotiations following a presidential council directive to do so, and called for fresh faces to be fielded in the next general election.

“The 15th general election could be called at any time as the present Perikatan Nasional government no longer has the support of the majority of MPs.

“We expect the prime minister to announce the dissolution of Parliament between July and October this year.” – The Vibes, February 22, 2021
