KUALA LUMPUR – Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) director-general Datuk Paimuzi Yahya died of heart and lung complications about 1pm today.

His death comes two days after he tested negative for Covid-19.

The Jakim corporate communications unit, in a brief statement, said he died at Sg Buloh Hospital, where he had undergone testing for the coronavirus.

“His body will be brought back to his home in Kuang, Selangor, for the funeral this evening.”

Despite his negative test result, the hospital advised that Paimuzi be admitted to the intensive care unit due to his medical history. – The Vibes, October 8, 2020
