JOHOR BARU – MCA is keeping mum on the matter of seat distribution among Barisan Nasional components.

The party’s president, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, said it is too early to raise the question.

“We have to work hard at all times. We do not want to be a last-minute candidate when the 15th general election is just around the corner,” he told a press conference after chairing a Johor MCA meeting here today.

The Ayer Hitam MP said MCA needs to have a strong team on the ground to reach out to the people, as there are many issues that require attention, including unemployment due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We should show our concern as the people are facing difficulties. We need to extend assistance with the existing network,” said Wee.

Asked about MCA’s cooperation with Umno, he said his party, the BN lynchpin and MIC are “brothers”, and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah makes them “a family”. – Bernama, April 18, 2021
