MIRI – More than 100 people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Bintulu district cannot be traced, as they provided authorities with false addresses and phone numbers.
Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing in a statement today said these individuals were tested between April 12 and 21.
“They cannot be located as they gave false personal details, such as addresses and telephone numbers. Health authorities are looking for them, so that they can be isolated for treatment.
“These people are given 24 hours to report to Bintulu Hospital’s emergency unit. Police reports will be lodged against them if they fail to show up.”
He also urged the public to report these individuals to the authorities.
“They are a danger to their families, colleagues and the public.”
It is a criminal offence to provide false information to authorities during Covid-19 swab tests, he added.
Bintulu recorded the most new coronavirus cases yesterday at 128, out of the 570 logged in Sarawak.
