KUALA LUMPUR – Taman Khazanah Indah and PPR Mutiara Kasih in Lahad Datu will come under a Emco from October 13-26, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today, via a press conference on Facebook Live.

“It involves 5,452 residents and it starts from 12.01am on Oct 13 to Oct 26,” he added.

"Because they are not allowed to leave their homes, it means they cannot buy food and so on. Food supplies will be distributed by the Sabah state government under the coordination of the State Disaster Operations Control Centre."

All exits and entrances to the Emco area were closed, however, applications for emergencies could be submitted to the police.

The senior minister also said said the conditional movement control order (CMCO) will be implemented in Kota Belud from October 13 to 26.

The move was aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19 in the district, as well as enabling targeted screening activities to be carried out.

"Only necessary services including factories and related service supply chains should be allowed.

"Residents are also allowed to go out and buy goods, namely two people from one family or one house," he said.

He also announced that police detained 674 people for violating RMCO rules yesterday, remanding 91 of them and issuing compound fines to 583.

“Among the offences for violating the RMCO include activities at entertainment centres which is 325, I would like to remind that despite under RMCO, we have relaxed many regulations but entertainment centres such as bars and night clubs and the likes are still not allowed,’’ he said.
