SEREMBAN – Police have rubbished claims that compounds amounting to RM30,000 were issued to individuals for violating Hari Raya Aidilfitri standard operating procedures.
Nilai police chief Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said a picture that has gone viral on social media shows door-to-door inspections being conducted on the first day of the celebrations yesterday in a housing area in Nilai Impian.
“The picture has been falsely interpreted as showing police issuing compounds,” he told Bernama today.
“Actually, police were conducting inspections with the media, to ensure residents’ compliance with Aidilfitri SOPs.
“During the checks, we found a very high rate of compliance. There was no breach of the SOPs.”
The Twitter account “No War But Class War” uploaded the status “My housing area in Nilai Impian. House owner RM25K, Guests RM5K” along with the photo.
Fazley urged the public to stop sharing unverified news online. – Bernama, May 14, 2021
