KUALA LUMPUR – Prasarana Malaysia Bhd is facing rapid-fire complaints from commuters today as they are frustrated with the long wait for trains due to delays caused by the clean-up of Monday’s LRT collision.
Many commuters have flooded the @AskRapidKL account on Twitter, with some sharing pictures of long queues around and outside the stations, and crowded trains – a violation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the movement control order (MCO3.0).
In a post, @AskRapidKL shared images of socially distanced commuters adhering to SOPs, but other users responded with photos contrary to that.

The Prasarana recovery team has shut one of the underground tracks, from Damai station to Pasar Seni, to accommodate the clean-up of the incident that happened near the KLCC station.

Meanwhile, commuters have also raised questions on the expected day that the clean-up works will be completed, allowing service to resume to normal.
RapidKL said that services are expected to return to normal tomorrow.
Trains are stopping for longer intervals at several locations to allow the trains from the opposite direction to pass.

In response to the accident on Monday, RapidKL has uploaded an updated schedule of the trains on its Facebook page.
According to updated SOPs released by the National Security Council on May 24, commuters are expected to practise physical distancing with a 50% reduced capacity for rail services.
The adherence to social distancing is the responsibility of the rail operators. They are also expected to provide hand sanitisers at the stations, terminals and in the trains as well as providing MySejahtera QR codes at each terminal and station. – The Vibes, May 27, 2021
