KUALA LUMPUR – After a video by Iswardy Morni allegedly insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong went viral, PKR said he has been issued a warning and could be sacked should he repeat his actions.
In a statement by communications director Fahmi Fadzil, the party verified that Iswardy is an ordinary member registered at PKR’s Petra Jaya branch in Sarawak.
“Iswardy does not hold any position in the state chapter or party headquarters.
“His statements are not at all a representation of PKR’s stand, as the party is one that upholds and defends the institution of the Malay rulers, as stated in the party constitution.
“His speech in previous videos has been discussed by the party’s political bureau, and a decision was taken as early as last April to issue him a stern warning. If he continues, PKR will not hesitate to sack him.”
Fahmi said the party will await police’s probe into Iswardy’s latest video before taking further action.
Yesterday, it was reported that Iswardy will be investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948, Section 504 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The video, titled “Total Lockdown: Apa Yang Kerajaan Gagal Belajar Dalam Setahun Ini”, was uploaded to Iswardy’s YouTube channel two days ago.
