KUALA LUMPUR – A young couple are in limbo over Covid-19 vaccinations after receiving a backdated appointment, and have been unable to rectify the situation.

Nur Hazirah Mokhtar, 32, said she registered for the national vaccination programme on the MySejahtera app on May 2, but received an appointment for April 26 this year.

Furthermore, the physiotherapist, who lives in Segambut here, was told that the appointment would be in her hometown of Jitra, Kedah.

She told The Vibes that her 32-year-old accountant husband, Muhamad Imran Redzuan, also faces a similar predicament, and both have been unable to receive new information despite their many attempts to contact MySejahtera through the app and hotline, and via email.

Hazirah added that a feature on the app indicated she would be contacted within five days, but there has been no news three weeks since she reported the issue.

“We’ve become quite frustrated because it feels as though our application has been rejected. Now, we don’t know how to solve this problem.

“We have exhausted all avenues, and now, we feel like we have run out of options to reach out to MySejahtera.”

Hazirah said when she registered on the app early last month, she was surprised to see the backdated appointment.

She said it was her first time registering for Covid-19 vaccination, with no application made prior to May 2.

“So, we indicated that we were unable to attend due to the location, because there was no other way of explaining our situation.

“There was no option for ‘wrong date or etc’, so we ticked ‘allocated health facility is too far away’, so that they could reschedule our appointment.”

Although the appointment was at Dewan Tunku Anum in Jitra, Hazirah and her husband do not mind returning to their hometown to receive their jabs.

“It was a regular registration, not the opt-in for AstraZeneca vaccines,” she said.

“I suspect that it’s due to our MyKad addresses still showing that we live in Kedah.

“But that’s not the issue; the issue is that the appointments were backdated. How could this happen?”

She said a similar issue occurred to a friend, but the matter was resolved.
