TAPAH – There is no medical evidence that people cannot eat durian after getting vaccinated against Covid-19, said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Dewan Merdeka Tapah vaccination centre here today, he said consuming too much sugary food and drink in general is bad for health.
His comments come after a post went viral claiming that a man died after eating durian shortly following his Covid-19 jab.
Dr Noor Azmi said it has been confirmed that the man died of a heart attack.
“The claim is not true at all. Don’t spread any unverified information about the vaccine, as this could create unnecessary fear among the public.
“Let the Health Ministry provide scientific explanations and data on this matter.” – Bernama, June 25, 2021
