KOTA KINABALU – Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Backbenchers’ Club chairman Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak has hinted that the state assembly will reconvene soon.
Speaking during his live show Santai Bersama SSK today, Salleh said the session may be held as early as end-August, or in early September at the latest.
“The chief minister (Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor) has conveyed to me that a sitting of the state assembly must also be held” in view of Parliament reconvening, he said.
“But, they will first discuss this in the (state) cabinet and consult the governor before holding the sitting.”
The last time the Sabah legislature convened was on December 23 last year, after GRS won the state election on September 26 and took power.
There have been no sessions since due to Covid-19. – The Vibes, July 16, 2021
