MIRI – There is no dissolution of the Sarawak assembly yet, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Speaking to reporters in Kuching after visiting the construction site of the new Petra Jaya Hospital, he said all quarters must wait for the Agong as there is still an emergency in place.
“No dissolution yet. Do not pre-empt anything. There is a decree from the Agong on the emergency that is still in place.
“Wait first,” he said.
Earlier, he had a briefing with Chief Minister Datuk Abang Johari Openg and other leaders of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) on preparations for the 12th state elections.
Several newspapers had reported that a date has been fixed for the dissolution, with some members of the state opposition accusing GPS of trying to manipulate the king to “trigger” the election into taking place before February.
On another note, Ismail Sabri also said the coming Budget may see Sarawak getting a lot of “goodies”, and he urged Sarawakians to wait.
