KUALA LUMPUR – The inaction towards several controversies within government agencies is indicative of the present administration’s Keluarga Malaysia slogan being pure lip service.

Gobind Singh Deo (Puchong-PH) has also lambasted the government over the ongoing Melaka elections which sees partners at the federal level battling it out for votes.

“We must see the reality of this present government. This so-called Keluarga Malaysia government of integrity is now fighting each other in the Melaka state elections.

“The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is under the Prime Minister’s Department, the prime minister is from Umno, and police are under the Home Ministry whose minister is from Bersatu,” he told the Dewan Rakyat in an impassioned speech today.

The DAP lawmaker said that such in-fighting will only serve to undermine the integrity of the government as well as the guarantees of help promised by them during parliamentary proceedings.

Referring to the lack of an independent body which will be able to investigate wrongdoings within government agencies, Gobind accused the government of being “uncommitted to change”.

“They (the government) will hand out empty assurances without carrying out any meaningful action.

“This government has failed and after failing, we can see them fighting amongst themselves in the state elections.

“How can we be expected to continue with this kind of government?” Gobind questioned. – The Vibes, November 8, 2021
