KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 1,333 Covid-19 recoveries were reported in the 24 hours leading up to noon today, bringing the cumulative number of discharged virus patients to 52,647.

This represents 81.6% of Malaysia’s caseload, which currently stands at 64,485 after 1,309 cases were reported in the same period.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this was encouraging, adding that active cases now stands at 11,481 down from 11,508 yesterday.

He said, however, that all but one of today’s new cases were locally transmitted.

To date, there are 116 cases being treated at intensive care units, of which 42 require respiratory assistance.

"It is saddening to announce that there has been an increase of three Covid-19 deaths today, bringing the cumulative number of deaths to 357 cases," he said in a statement today.

Noor Hisham said Kuala Lumpur reported the highest number of daily cases at 493. Of these, 473 were from clusters at construction sites.

The other states with high numbers of new infections were Sabah with 290 cases and Selangor with 238.

"The total number of clusters that have ended is 176, including one cluster that ended today named the Magnificent Cluster," he said. – The Vibes, November 29, 2020
