KUALA LUMPUR – DAP national chairman Tan Kok Wai has apologised to Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa over an allegation that the KL City Hall (DBKL) has sold 42 plots of land since the latter took office 10 months ago.
Tan’s “surprise visit and apology” was announced by Annuar via Twitter today, adding that Tan has submitted a notice to retract his defamatory remarks against him on November 18.
“I received a surprise visit by DAP national chairman Tan Kok Wai (who is also Cheras MP) at my office. He submitted a letter to apologise and to withdraw his defamation statement against me on November 18.
“Thank you. I will refer to my lawyer,” Annuar tweeted.
Annuar had on November 20, initiated legal proceedings against Tan, Malaysiakini and the news outfit’s editor-in-chief, Steven Gan, for publishing an article quoting Tan’s allegation that many DBKL-owned plots of land were sold to private sectors for housing and commercial use.
On November 19, Annuar said the contentious plots of lands were privately-owned lands in Kuala Lumpur that applied for changes of use, density and plot ratio in accordance with the KL City Plan 2020.
“The Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982 (Act 267) provides for landowners to change the use of land, density and plot ratio in the Local Plan (KLCP 2020), which has been gazetted.
