GEORGE TOWN – Police are looking for a man who allegedly set his wife on fire following an argument at a house in an oil palm estate yesterday.

Police said they received information about 10.45pm yesterday about a man who had allegedly set his wife on fire.

The man had apparently used petrol.

When police arrived at the scene, they learnt that the victim had been taken to Kepala Batas Hospital.

The couple’s son is said to have been at home when the incident occurred and had asked neighbours for help.

Police said the suspect was a 36-year-old man with four previous records and had since fled into the palm oil estate.

Investigations are underway and police urge anyone with information to contact them.

The victim suffered second and third-degree burns on about 27% of her body.

The couple have been married for 15 years and have four children. – The Vibes, August 1, 2023
