KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) can win at least 41 state seats in Selangor, ensuring the unity government continues to administer the state, said Sg Tua PH candidate Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
The caretaker menteri besar said he was positive because of PH’s outstanding record in ruling the state since 2008.
“Our confidence in forming the state government is about 70% to 80%. We are also looking forward to a rise in the number of votes from the Malays.
“If votes for PH increase, we can win 40 to 41 seats in Selangor, achieving a two-thirds majority in this state election,” he told reporters after casting his vote at SJKC Selayang Baru near here today.
Also present was his wife Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad who voted in the same location.
Amirudin urged voters in all six states to come out and vote.
“I urge all voters in Selangor to come forward and exercise their democratic right. After all our efforts during campaigning, today is the day to determine our state’s future.
“We hope we can win with a two-thirds majority,” he added.
Earlier, Amirudin, who is also Selangor PH chairman, arrived with his wife at 8.24am on a Vespa scooter and later visited several polling stations in Sg Tua.
He also stopped to greet several voters, especially the aged who arrived from as early as 8am at the various polling stations. – The Vibes, August 12, 2023
