PETALING JAYA – A distraught mother has appealed to all Malaysians to help locate her 17-year-old daughter who left home on Monday.

Taking to social media, Judy Tan said her daughter went away on September 25 at about 3pm.

Tan Yuen Hoon, who is 165cm tall, left without taking her handphone and was last seen at her residence in an apartment in Batu Caves, here.

Judy said she had left to pick up her other children from school at 2.30pm and when she got home, her daughter was missing.

Based on footage from the apartment’s CCTV, her daughter was seen leaving at 3pm, wearing a grey hoodie and white pants.

The girl also missed school that particular day and a teacher said she saw her carrying small bags near a bus station at the Aeon Mall in Kepong at 3.30pm.

When the teacher asked her where she was going and why she was absent, the girl said she was on her way home.

Judy, a single mother, also sought help from her daughter's close friends to look for her.

“I believe she left because she is probably stressed over her studies.

“Whatever it is, please come home. We can always talk about it,” pleaded Judy.

Judy also shared a copy of a police report she lodged where she revealed that her daughter had also left a note.

The note read, “Sorry mum. I am leaving home and please don’t look for me”.

Anyone with information on Tan Yuen Hoon’s whereabouts is urged to contact Judy Tan at 018-218 9377. – The Vibes, September 28, 2023
