IT comes down to three pieces of crumpled A4 paper. Three pieces of paper that are passed around to decide the fate of the country.

This illustrates the ill-preparedness of the people in power and their lack of planning and forward-thinking while the rakyat continues to lose hope in our leaders.

It is damning evidence that the country is rudderless. At best, we are running on fumes.

Weeks of political chatter were about numbers. Who has more MPs? Who has more statutory declarations? How many times did they meet the Agong or the prime minister?

In reality, these are not the numbers Malaysians are concerned about.

Malaysians are concerned about the daily scoreboard of five-digit Covid-19 caseloads, rising cases in intensive care units and deaths.

The numbers that the people are also concerned about are how much they have in their pockets – the daily economics of eking out a living.

The stark disconnect between those engaged in a power grab and the survival of the people will make it more difficult for the country to bounce back.

While Malaysians are looking out for each other, the politicians are only looking out for themselves. – The Vibes, August 6, 2021
