KOTA KINABALU - Acting Sabah Football Association president Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin today warned Sabah FC players to stop spreading gossip, saying it would affect the team's performance.
"We must end this. Enough is enough. This is the last warning," he told the Sabah FC team at a breaking of fast event.
His warning came on the heels of a state football fan twitter account claiming the senior team boycott of training sessions over the non-payment of players salaries for months.
The team's management has already rubbished the gossip, saying there was just a delay in the payment of salaries.
The Sabah deputy chief minister has threatened action if a similar incident takes place again, adding that players should show patriotism, pride and loyalty when donning the state jersey.
"If there is no love, than it's betrayal. Do not play with me, I am not politicking when I say I would overhaul Sabah Football Association and Sabah FC," warned Bung.
Bung also stated he knew the risk of leading the state football body, emphasizing he had sacrificed his funds and time towards ensuring everything went along smoothly. Thus he does not want his efforts to go in vain. - The Vibes, April 15, 2021.
