KUALA LUMPUR – World number two shuttler Lee Zii Jia has one last chance to qualify for the World Tour Finals in Guangzhou.

The 24-year-old will be making his way to Sydney for his participation in the Australia Open on November 15 to 20.

The news was confirmed by his manager, Lee Zii Yii, through a text message today.

Zii Yii, who is also his sister, said the men’s singles star will do his best in the Super 300 event.

“Everything is confirmed and Zii Jia is going to the Australia Open.

“He will try his best and hopefully we can have a good outcome,” said Zii Yii through the text messaging application WhatsApp.

The tournament would be crucial for the Kedah-born to excel if he wished to qualify for the World Tour Finals on December 14 to 18.

This would be his last chance whereby he would need to at least go past the quarterfinals.

Zii Jia rued his missed opportunity at the French Open in October after crashing out in the opening round and for missing out in the Hylo Open in Germany. – The Vibes, November 9, 2022
