KUALA LUMPUR – The Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) has donated to the family of late PJ City defender Rajes Perumal who passed away last month in a motorcycle accident.
PFAM chief executive officer Izham Ismail along with PFAM president and KL City FC forward Safee Sali visited Rajes’ family in Batu Caves yesterday.
“The visit is to show sympathy and provide moral support for the passing of the late player. PFAM also donated to the family of the deceased.
“May you remain strong in facing this test and we at PFAM will always pray for the well-being of Rajes’ wife, S. Komathy and children,” they said in a Facebook post.
Rajes left behind a wife and three children, the youngest being 9 months old.
Izham said, “Visited the family of the late Rajes Perumal to console and extend a message of condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of all professional footballers in Malaysia.
“He touched many hearts with his kindness and Malaysian football will miss him dearly. RIP Rajes,” he said.
The memory of Rajes is never forgotten as he was also remembered at the 2022 Fifpro General Assembly late last month.
Previously, Social Security Chairman chairman and PJ City president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal said Rajes’ family will receive financial assistance from the organisation.
The club, meanwhile, said they would donate ticket sales from their Malaysia Cup first-round home match against Johor Darul Ta’zim on October 26 to Rajes’ family. – The Vibes, November 9, 2022.
