KUALA LUMPUR – The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to further reduce the ticket prices for the two upcoming AFF Cup matches at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium due to the current unstable economic situation.
Open tickets are now priced at RM30, down from RM45; premium tickets are now RM50, down from RM60; and grandstand prices are RM60, down from RM70. Tickets for children between six and twelve are priced at RM5, down from RM10.
FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the extra reduction in ticket prices was made after taking into consideration complaints from supporters, many of which wanted the pricing to be how it was back during the 2018 championship.
In 2018, grandstand tickets were RM30, open tickets were RM20, and tickets for kids were RM5.
“Considering that the majority of football supporters are from the B40 group, the reduction of ticket prices to as low as RM30 will encourage more fans to the national stadium throughout the AFF Cup campaign.
“As the FAM president, I have to take full responsibility that we want the improved performance shown by Kim Pan-gon and the Harimau Malaya to go hand-in-hand with the support from the presence of supporters at every game,” he said in a statement.
However, Hamidin said the increase in ticket prices for this 2022 edition had to be made by FAM due to rising management and match hosting costs.
He also clarified that FAM was unable to provide combo prices as they did during the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers in June, as the AFF Cup group stage only has two matches on home soil, with a 10-day gap then compared to seven during the Asian Cup qualifiers.
Meanwhile, FAM secretary-general Noor Azman Rahman said the decision to lower the ticket prices was made by the FAM president along with its executive committee members.
“The president took into account the current economic situation and subsequently decided to lower the prices even further from the original price that was initially released,” he told The Vibes.
Initially, grandstand tickets were RM100, and premium tickets were RM70. Open tickets were RM50, while tickets for children were RM10.
For supporters who had purchased the tickets at the original price or yesterday’s reduced price, the refund process will be managed by Ticket Hotline.
Lastly, Hamidin invited and welcomed the presence of more Harimau Malaya supporters to flood the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on December 24 for the match against Laos and January 3, 2023 when they take on Singapore.

Malaysia will start their AFF Cup campaign against Myanmar on December 21, followed by Laos on December 24, Vietnam on December 27, and Singapore on January 3. – The Vibes, December 14, 2022
