KUALA LUMPUR – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) are currently in partnership talks with fitness and exercise equipment brand Life Fitness.

In a statement, the club’s owner HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim had discussions with Life Fitness to enhance the quality of the club’s gym equipment and also enable commercial expansion of JDT gyms for the public.

“JDT are looking at Life Fitness’ expertise and their specialised gym brands for elite athletes especially Hammer Strength as used by major sporting organisations in America.

“This will ensure the Southern Tigers continue having cutting-edge technology that will benefit our players from the JDT Academy to the first team,” they said.

The Johor crown prince met with Life Fitness during the team’s on-going preseason in Dubai.

Meanwhile, JDT also agreed to collaborate with Sharjah FC of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following a visit to the club from the crown prince.

Currently second in the UAE Pro League, Sharjah FC have offered JDT to use their training facilities for free.

JDT lost their first preseason match 2-0 in Dubai against FC Rostov but won the next two matches against FC Levski Sofia and Fursan Hispania FC. The score was 1-0 and 3-0 respectively.

They play FC Lokomotiv Moscow tonight and FC Zenit St. Petersburg on February 6. – The Vibes, February 2, 2023.
