KUALA LUMPUR – It has been a rocky start for Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) this season as Bojan Hodak’s boys are still looking for their first win in the Super League.
KL City currently sit in the 11th position of the Super League table just after four games. The City boys recorded three draws and lost one.
However, going into their match against their fierce rivals Selangor at the Cheras stadium tonight, Bojan is optimistic that this match will change their fortunes this season.
“We need one win to change our luck. We only lost one, so hopefully, tonight will be different.
“Winning against Selangor will boost the players’ confidence.
“The players are performing better in every match. We got attacking right in our last match against Kelantan despite drawing the match, but we are still a little sloppy in defence.
“We are working on our defence in training and hope we get it right tonight,” he told The Vibes when contacted.
At the same time, Bojan said that changes have been made to their training routine during this fasting month.

“We made some changes to our training sessions for the fasting month. We train at night for three hours after prayers and breaking fast.
“There is a long history because this is the Klang Valley Derby. Looking at the last three years, all the league matches have finished in draws.
“We did win twice during the Malaysia Cup in 2021, and they (Selangor) won the FA Cup match last year.
“So you can see that both teams are equal, and the match will surely be a tough one. It will be interesting for the fans so I hope we will have a full stadium tomorrow,” he said.
Meanwhile, Selangor coach Tan Cheng Hoe said that KL City’s preparation for the match will be better than the Red Giants because of the International break.
KL City had two players who played during the International break, but I had 13 players who were away for national duty. I had two players who returned from Jordan yesterday morning from their national duty.
“However, it is no excuse for us to not get three points tonight.
“We need a positive result tonight because of our heavy loss to Johor Darul Ta’zim in the previous match. As Bojan has said that his boys are ready, all I can say is that my players are ready too.
“KL City and Selangor share a strong rivalry history in football and when we play against each other, players from both sides give their best as both teams fight it out to earn the bragging rights in the Klang Valley.
