RUSSIAN forces launched a series of strikes on Ukraine’s capital early Tuesday, targeting residential buildings and energy infrastructure, according to local authorities and video footage posted online.

AP cited Mayor Vitalii Kitschko saying that a residential building in the central Pechersk district and another in Kyiv’s eastern Dniprovskyi district were severely damaged.

Video footage shared on Telegram showed flames engulfing multiple floors of the nine-storey building in Dniprovskyi. At least four people were injured, Tymor Tkachenko, head of Kyiv city administration, said.

Ukraine’s energy ministry confirmed that energy infrastructure had been hit, though it did not provide details on the type or scale of the damage.

The attacks came shortly after U.S. and Ukrainian representatives met in Geneva on Sunday to discuss a U.S.-Russia brokered peace plan.

Ukrainian delegate Oleksandr Bevz described the talks as “very constructive” and said that most points were discussed. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow had not yet seen the updated plan. - November 25, 2025
